TEACHER TRAINING – HYLAND MADRID TEACHER TRAINERS

A World of Experience

Andrea Littlewood (BA, RSA CTEFLA & DTEFLA) has been working in ELT since 1985 and is Head of the Hyland Young Learners Department. She gives talks to teachers in the state and private sector and has co-authored the first cycle of the new Richmond Primary course Twister. She is also a Cambridge ESOL oral examiner.

Andrea Sweeney (BA, RSA DELTA) is the Director of Studies of Hyland Language Centre. She has been teaching for over 10 years in Mexico, Indonesia, Kenya, France and Spain.

Helena Kennedy (BA, RSA CELTA, RSA DELTA) is the Assistant Director of Studies for the General School nd teaches both adults and young learners at Hyland. She started teaching in 2005 and has worked in Austria, Spain and the UK.

Jacqueline Cook (MA, RSA CTEFLA & DTEFLA) is the public exams co-ordinator at Hyland, where she has been teaching and giving seminars since 1995. She is also a Cambridge CELTA teacher trainer and Cambridge ESOL oral examiner for FCE, CAE, CPE and ILEC.

Silvie Rasikova (MA, RSA CELTA, RSA DELTA IHCYL) is the Assistant Director of Studies for the Young Learner Department. She is also a CELTA trainer at Hyland.  She started teaching in 2001 and has worked in the Czech Republic, the UK and Spain.

Yvonne Moore (BA, PGCE, RSA CTEFLA, LTCL Trinity Diploma) is an experienced primary teacher with a background in Montessori education and learning difficulties. She has taught in Sweden, South America and the USA and has now been teaching at Hyland for 15 years. She is also a Cambridge ESOL oral examiner.

Gavin Reid began teaching with the British Council in Colombia before moving to Hyland Language Centre, Madrid, in 2011. He has also worked on a pioneering DOGME/CLIL based summer camp with International House teaching YLs through a variety of watersports.

Huw Evans (BSc, RSA CELTA) has been working as a teacher at Hyland Language Centre since 2011, teaching adults and younger learners. This includes infants groups. He is particularly interested in making activities relevant and interesting for the students as well as bringing current affairs into the classroom.
